About the Bands
and Movies

June 13
CONCERT: In cooperation with the Juneteenth Committee the concert will be a selection of Gospel music by choirs of area churches that will be celebrating the Juneteenth activities throughout the day.
MOVIE: Ratatouille—Ratatouille is a 2007 animated feature about Rémy, a rat living in Paris who wants to be a chef, but is pressured to do otherwise by the disapproval of his family and the prejudice of humans.
June 27
CONCERT: Cuzster has been together for nine years. When they step onto the stage they take the audience on a musical memory trip as they make the sounds of the 70s and 80s come alive. Join us for the familiar sounds of Classic Rock ‘n Roll
MOVIE: Shrek– Shreck is a 2001 animated film about a large, strong, solitude-loving, grumpy ogre who falls in love with the beautiful Princess Fiona.
July 11
CONCERT: There will be a bit of a twist from the normal musical concert on this evening when Richard Renner of Vodville Entertainment will take to the stage with his own wacky and wild one-man slapstick circus. Come on out for an evening of laughter and fun.
MOVIE: High School Musical II– A sequel to High School Musical, visits students at East High as they get ready for Summer Break.
July 25
CONCERT: Haymakers
The Haymakers are an acoustic group with a broad range of American music in our repertoire sampling from old American folk, bluegrass, old-timey, traditional country and gospel music. This is music that represents the history of this great country. It is all played acoustically, focusing on melodies and harmonies.
MOVIE: Underdog- There's no need to fear,
Underdog is here. Based on the 1964 cartoon, Underdog once again rises to the protect the innocent from the villains.
Aug. 8
CONCERT: Junction City’s Troubadours will entertain with their collection of tunes sung by some of the most seasoned voices in the region. Under the direction of Manny Pasquil the Troubadours musical repertoire includes an enjoyable mix of tunes.
MOVIE: The Bee Movie-This movie is about a bee by the name of Barry Bee Benson who just graduated from his three days of college and finds out he has only one chance of picking his lifelong job.

Summer Concert
&
Movie Series

2008 will be the fifth summer that the Junction City Arts Council and the Junction City Police Department will partner for the Concert and Movie in the Park Series.

The evening begins with a concert at 7:30 p.m. followed by a movie that begins around 9 to 9:15 p.m. at Heritage Park, Sixth and Washington Streets.

The concerts and movies are free and guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. There is about a 30 to 45 minute break between the concert and the movie.
