Harshbarger Guidelines

The Harshbarger Scholarship will be given to assist individuals with arts-related interests in attending art camps, seminars and workshops in and beyond the borders of Geary County. Priority will be given to Geary County residents, but scholarship applicants are not required to live in Geary County.

Available funds for this scholarship will be determined on an annual basis when the JCAC budget is developed.

An applicant may receive up to 75 percent of the total cost of registration fees for the camp, seminar or workshop.

On a separate sheet, the applicant must submit an essay that explains to the board of directors why they wish to attend the program and what they hope to gain by attending.

The applicant will be required to present a report to the board of the Junction City Arts Council. This report will be presented in the board meeting following the end of the program, unless the applicant has made other arrangements.

The scholarship application must be received no less than 45 days before the start of the program.

No application will be considered after the start of program for which the applicant has applied or if the program starts between the time the application was received and the scheduled board meeting.

Payments for approved applicants will be made to the institution or program director.
